Step 1.
Making sure Dialup Networking is installed.
- Click on the "Start"
button.
- Click on the "Settings"
button.
- Click on the "Control
Panel" button.
- Double click on the "Network"
Icon.
If you see Dialup Adapter
and TCP/IP Listed then you have Dialup Networking
installed and you may continue to Step 2.
If you do not see the Dialup Adapter please see "Installing
Dialup Networking".
Step 2.
Configuring Dialup Networking for use with DONet.
- Double click on "My
Computer"
- Double click on "Dialup
Networking"
- Double click on "Make
new connection"
- It will ask for the name of the new
connection, in this box enter "DONet"
then select "Next"
- It will now ask for the Area code
and Phone number, please see the bottom of this page for phone
number information. Click "Next".
- Click "Finish".
Now you may double click the DONet Icon
to connect to our service and you may use any web browser you choose.
Step 3.
Mail & DNS Settings.
To setup your email client you will
need to know the mail server settings.
POP3 Server: pop3.donet.com
SMTP Server: smtp.donet.com
Although not required, the DNS servers
are as follows.
Primary Nameserver: 64.56.119.67
Secondary Nameserver: 64.56.96.6
Installing
Dialup Networking
Note: You will need you're windows
95/98 CD for these instructions.
- Click on the "Start"
button.
- Click on the "Settings"
button.
- Click on the "Control
Panel" button.
- Double click on "Add/Remove
Programs"
- Select the "Windows
Setup" tab
- Select "Communications"
and hit the "Details" button.
- Check "Dialup
Networking".
- Click "OK"
and "OK" again.
- Reboot windows
- Click on the "Start"
button.
- Click on the "Settings"
button.
- Click on the "Control
Panel" button.
- Double click on "Network"
Make sure that "Dialup
Networking" and "TCP/IP" are
both listed, if they are you may continue on to Step 2.
